Jesus' Death Burial,and Resurrection

resurrectionDayHuge
(He was on the cross 6 hours,9am-3pm)
(died on Weds.~~rose on Sat.) True Jewish Time

A. He was taken before Pilate

Mark 15:1
And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation
with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus,
and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.

B. He was sent to Herod

Luke 23:6-10
6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.

7 And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction,
he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.

8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad:
for he was desirous to see him of a long season,
because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have
seen some miracle done by him.

9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.

C. He was returned to Pilate

Luke 23:11
And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him,
and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.

D. He was sentenced

Luke 23:23-24
23 And they were instant with loud voices,
requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them
and of the chief priests prevailed.
24 And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.

E. He was led to Calvary

Luke 23:26
And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian,
coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross,
that he might bear it after Jesus.

F. He was Crucified the 3rd hour (approx.9am )

Luke 23:33
And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary,
there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand,
and the other on the left.

G. Mark 15:25
And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

Luke 23:34
Then Jesus said ;Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Mark 15:24
And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments,
casting lots upon them, what every man should take.

H. Matthew 27:39-40
39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple,
and buildest it in three days, save thyself.
If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

I. Mark 15:31
Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes,
He saved others; himself he cannot save.

J. Luke 23:36-37
36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.

K. Luke 23:38-39
38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek,
and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying,
If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

L. Luke 23:40-41
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying,
Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds:
but this man hath done nothing amiss.

M. Luke 23:40-42

Jesus answered him,

42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou
comest into thy kingdom.

43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee,
Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

N. John 19:26-27
Jesus said to His mother...
26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by,
whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother!
And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

John 19:28
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished,
that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said,
It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

S. Jesus said ; "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit"

Luke 23:46
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father,

T. JESUS DIES at the 9th hour approx.3 pm

U. The tomb breaks open

Matt. 27:51-52
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain
from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake,
and the rocks rent;And the graves were opened;
and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

V. The centurion said:"Surely He was the Son of God"

Matt.27:54
Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus,
saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly,
saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

W. The confession of the multitude

Luke 23:48
And all the people that came together to that sight,
beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
X. The thieves' legs are broken

John 19:31-32
31.The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies
should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day,
(for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their
legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first,
and of the other which was crucified with him.

Y. The soldier pierces Jesus' side
John 19:34
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side,
and forthwith came there out blood and water.

Z. THE BURIAL-the tomb sealed and guard posted
John 19:38-42
38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus,
but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away
the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore,
and took the body of Jesus.

39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night,
and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes
with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden;
and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day;
for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

JOHN 20:1-22
1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early,
when it was yet dark,
unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

2Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple,
whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the LORD
out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.

3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple,
 and came to the sepulchre.

4So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter,
and came first to the sepulchre.

5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying;
 yet went he not in.

6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre,
and seeth the linen clothes lie,

7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes,
but wrapped together in a place by itself.

8Then went in also that other disciple,
which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

9 For as yet they knew not the scripture,
that he must rise again from the dead.

10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept,
she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,

12And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head,
and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

13And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them,
Because they have taken away my LORD, and I know not where they have laid him.

14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing,
and knew not that it was Jesus.

15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou?
She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir,
if thou have borne him hence,
tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him,
Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended
to my Father:
but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father,
and your Father;and to my God, and your God.

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the LORD,
and that he had spoken these things unto her.

19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week,
when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for
fear of the Jews,
came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side.
Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.

21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me,
even so send I you.

22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them,
Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Many things are brought back to memory as I recall the beginning
of my calling and the Holy Spirit's words to me.
First,Ye shall know the truth and it shall make you free
also, do not be conformed to this world or pagan celebrations.
(Look up ORIGIN OF EASTER or look on my church site link above)
Is it biblically correct to say Easter instead of Resurrection Day?
Perhaps as the world says it but we are called to seek and find,
meditate on the word and mysteries will be revealed.

The Lord put it deep in my spirit of Hosea 4:6 My people perish for
lack of knowledge.I'm not judging,I am sharing only in obedience.
