Oh, I prayed to God every night.
We want things to go our own way.
We want things.
I didn't have enough,
and no one cared.
When I won the lottery,
I really thought God answered my prayers.
The Almighty Dollar.
Money makes the world go round.
What a ten million dollar prize can do for a man!
One million, more or less, for taxes and stuff.
I almost didn't realize.
That's an enjoyable lesson to learn.
Now when you enter my new home,
on a beautiful block,
my charming home,
I will greet you with pleasure.
I was alive before the prize,
I am alive now.
Same life, more money.
God sure does love.
Lady luck has entered my life.
She is here to stay.
My responsibilities, my obligations, my perceptions
have changed.
Some force of good luck has come to help me.
I'm not overly-religious, that is.
I'm thankful, I'm grateful,
the money sure is helpful.
An emptiness I once felt has now been filled.
Is this all people want:
that lucky spin of the wheel,
that opportune roll of the dice?
I wonder what would happen if everyone won a million.
Let everyone have enough money.
No big deal.
The resources would inevitably run out.
Supplies would drain.
Supply and demand is a big gigantic economic concept.
So, luck by its very nature has its own purpose.
Not everybody can win.
I'm thankful that I'm special.
