It's October Again (who am I?)
It's October again, the night's have a bite;
Can you remember me and my life's plight?
October 25th, 1986 in New York City,
We were up by two in the tenth, sitting pretty.
A World Series lead, three games to two,
One more out would bid the Mets adieu.
Suddenly Carter, Mitchell, and Knight;
Off Schiraldi, each singled into the night.
Stanley came on, a wild pitch, the game is tied,
Mookie Wilson hit a slow roller to the right side.
I was in position for the play, then the easy toss,
Between my legs the ball went, sure victory, now a loss.
