I'd paint the world the hues of a summer day
I'd use a floating cloud under the sun's ray
I'd paint no weapons or wars pain would go away
There would be water and waves whales at play
Outside like home a mountain high in the sky
I'd paint on the front deck savoring you and I
I'd paint on my canvas the words give peace a try
There would be no body bags no Mom asking why
If I could sing I'd sing melodies to angels way up high
I'd sing of worries that have long since gone by
If I could paint I'd paint in friendship me and you
Holding hands one by one until the line of friends grew
I'd teach my children all religions are one in school
The colors in my painting would come in every hue
If only we could share the paint me with all of you
