 What was I thinking?
What was I thinking?

All I can see is the red glare
Smeared across the table before
My bleary, weary, eyes

Sleep what's that?
 something?
Is there anything to hold onto
When sleep and the dream world
Is stronger than the one
Where dreams of Mercury
Sings poetry from the mouths
Of babes and ancient friends
And all I can think as I stare
At the table
Is how brushed the red light
Looks on the table
Because…
What Was I thinking?

I think it had something
To do with sleep deprivation.

I'm high I think
On lack of sleep
And there are faces
Looking back at me
Through the reflection
On the table
Fire fairies
And dragon's eyes
Peering back
From the other side…
Come play with us
The dream world
Isn't far away…

I can't tell anymore
If I am here or there
Perhaps there is a foot in each
Which is why
Everything I smearing
Together…

Dream, real
The differences are so miniscule.
