Pieces Of Yesterday
Like dust particles suspended in the sun's ray
sound and image are brief indulgence of thought
to hang only in your memory today
a gift to treasure that can't be bought
Like dry leaves to the wind, those thoughts take flight
and yesterdays twinkle like stars aglow
A painted image to caress the night
and ripple to where your memories flow
An illusion of time unable to touch
that crumbled piece of by gone day
Only preserve one-dimensionally such
reality lost but in senses to lay
