 Oasis in Time
Occasionally I wander upon an oasis in time;
A place where I can relax without the ticking.
Where my dreams can be fulfilled so sublime;
No longer gremlins at my heels that I'm kicking.
That calm pool of fresh cold water to drink;
Shade from the intensity of the sun under the palms.
Here I can release my troubles and simply think;
My problems drift away for now without any qualms.
Whether on Grand Turk or in my own backyard;
This moment is suspended from reality; clocks stop.
I realize that this timeless moment is an eternal shard;
As my soul lays in the hammock, I sit and then I plop.
This moment can be a week, a day, or an hour or two;
It doesn't really matter at all, for the rest is complete.
After a visit to that oasis in time, I feel brand new;
I have rested in this beautiful place, an eternal retreat
