Goodbye Letter
To an old friend:
Dear You,
The past 4 months have been...Enlightening
I have been taught a thing or two
But no lesson in science, math, or history
Could top what I've learned from you;
You opened my eyes to another world,
A parallel dimension that eluded my sight
At first you only showed me the beauty, the sun...
But every day comes with a night
Things started great,
We quickly became best friends,
But then emotions pushed their way in;
The situation got complicated
Neither one of us knew what to do
We were tried time after time again
We both took for granted
Our tight-knit relationship,
Figured nothing could pull us apart;
But with fear to the left and pain to the right,
Our journey would end at the start
We had a good run;
A rocky one, yes,
But the memories will never fade;
The laughs, the tears, beats my heart missed
How I could never take my eyes off your face
Though I have no regrets,
The past cannot be changed,
I wish I could influence our future...
Letting go is so hard,
It feels like giving up,
I'm sorry I couldn't stop this before
This got out of hand
We got in way too deep,
Buried under our egos and stubbornness;
But sorry won't mend
This laceration we've cut deep
So as much as it kills me,
