Broken Compass
Lost in the middle of nowhere
No map to find my way
Nobody around that can help me;
Walking in circles day after day
I remember you gave me a compass
Promised it would lead me back to you
But I'm trying to get away,
Find a place to start anew
Sometimes the needle points in a random direction
I know it's found you again
And then it points at me, my heart,
Trying to persuade me to let you in
~But I cannot follow my heart, I'm afraid
It means well, but wants what it cannot have;
So the sooner I get out of this unknown place
The sooner I can leave behind our past
And don't tell me to follow my head, then
For it constantly searches too
I walk on, blind and deaf,
Because my ears only listen, my eyes only search
For a sign of you
You've cursed me, yet again
To be lost without you here
Stranded and alone,
I lose what little sanity I held dear
~Destination unknown,
Road there unmarked
I walk blindly with a broken compass
That only points towards a broken heart
