Birthday In The Louvre...
walls full of war-
falling
and drowning
and fighting
for more...
windows of light-
shadows
and patterns
and flickers
so slight...
sculptures in stone-
armless
and legless
and cold
and alone...
women in pain-
gasping
and heaving
and writhing
again...
children in clouds-
turning
and teasing
and hiding
in shrouds...
sailors in rain-
pushing
and panting
and fighting
the pain...
monarchs in gowns-
glaring
and gleaming
and leading
the crowds...
hanging in gold-
timeless
and ageless
and ever
retold...
