 Domino's
Stacking box after box of domino's in a pattern;
Patient with my time, meticulously placing each tile.
Designing the flag, a loop the loop, and even Saturn;
Hours are spent setting up, but I am asked, is it worthwhile?
I question this for a moment, then look out across the floor;
Tens of thousands of domino's, set up and now ready.
I place the video camera in order to record this event into lore;
My skills of thinking and visualization to be tested; now, steady.
The moment has arrived, as I have invited family and friends;
But only my camera and I show up, I guess I'm crazy after all.
In the loneliness of this epic moment, I silently make amends;
This time consuming hobby, only wishing to see the domino's fall.
Geeks and freaks, ostracized by my own obsessions from reality;
But the moment of truth is near, the excitement within is explosive.
Considered my most folks of the populace to live in abnormality;
Yet the thrill is so worth it all, I sometimes become quite corrosive.
My heart beats quickly as I switch on my video camera for posterity;
I move to the lead domino, my palms sweating with anticipation.
I flick, listening to the music of the clicking, I wish all could see;
The joy in my heart, the beauty before my eyes, I am in fascination.
