Poetic-Verses
teenage nightmares..........
The rantings of a teenager seem to somehow
go unchecked;
although you want to calm him down,
you would rather wring his neck.
slamming doors, shouting fits that tell you,
you have done it wrong.
crocodile tears, you put up with for years,
As they grow so big and strong,
You are told in the blunt language of text,
that you have let them go astray.
And when they have there own children,
They will be brought up in a total different way;
There is always a calm before the storm,
its mostly Saturday night.
it is always at the end of the month,
when they haven't got a light......
So then the rest of the family suffer
from the indignant ravings of one,
Its usually after the evening meal
when the ravings goes on and on.
Then as a parent you step up to the plate ,
a metaphor i know,
you hurl a fork into the air ,
like an arrow leaving a bow.
It sometimes hits it mark,
and violence then ensues
the buck and the stag rut ,
its the Saturday night blues.
You give them all the guidance you can,
thinking it will get them from A to B.
But the truth be told,
its always about ME,ME.ME,ME, ME;
You may think in reading this,
that I am rather sad,
but there ain't no courses out there,
on how to be a mum and dad.
Now Larkin may have got it right,
We f**k you up at will,
but after twenty years of this,
my wife should have stayed on the pill.
