When did it occur?
the shift of my life
the waiting hours
of months
&
years
&
a life
I cannot get back to me
as I have tried
I cannot find favor
in any of these liars
called "friends"

in the mistakes of youth they were betrayed

Could a poet stare at you in disbelief
the disbelief that
God
could make something
so beautiful
so temporary?
awakend by angels
the battle is on
I'll promise you tomorrow
if we can only make it through the night
these tests of my faith
seem nothing like what I thought
