I NEED THE WINTER
I need the winter Lord, much more
then the summer sun,
for it is where lessons are learned
and battles are won.
I must face the darkness,
it's where my faith will grow,
it's not in the springtime
it's buried beneath the snow.
You won't be found in sunlight,
as much as, in the rain,
for you delight in teaching
you're the ruler of all pain.
Only as I walk through my dark
winter's of despair,
will I come to know that your
presence goes everywhere.
I need to feel the winter
and face the storms of old,
I need to trust in you Lord
as my blanket in the cold.
