Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 Regressive Sentiment
Love had it's fill today confessed
It's now no more, today loves less
You who scored high marks upon her heart
You now alone, so torn apart

Love was there that held you close
To her once here, today you toast
With cup of sentiment in her name
This sip bitter, life not the same

You chase the ghost of yesterday
Thinking, maybe, make up that way
Wrong dear friend you'll never find
Love once yours, still on your mind

Yet still your heart holds to her gone
Seems like Krazy glue now keeps this bond
Together in thought, in sentiment
Separate in life, your soul love dents

Lesson learned but you still burn
Fires at home, your eyes discern
Her approach from fog lifted
Wrong again, your fix, addicted

Regressive sentiment is the pill
You need to take for it will kill
What's left you lame in such turmoil
Yours alone, in you love spoiled

Regressive sentiment, sounds too good
Too easy seems, though you've withstood
What love did that just got old
Gone is what now feels so cold

Take 2 and call us in the morning!
