In the cry of morning
the mullah's voice pierce the surroundings
telling the miracle from mecca
blown across the sahara
to teeming millions

in his garment
prayer beads in the hand
for the most merciful
the most beneficient
to hearken
comapared to my Sunday singing
carrying a rosary
and fed with bible verses
companions in seeking God
Mullah and priest
flee from strife and hate
in differences strewn from
heaven we are yet to comprehend
let blood and contention
cease
till merriment
in Mosque and music
a touch of salvation
