footprints in the earth.....

Brigands

Society must be
Kept
In uniformed order
Championed by the
Righteous cause
To see justice
Triumph
In the fair exchange
of legal tender
Brigands
Whose numbers
Are like their demands
Sporadic
 harmed or humoured
Are we by the motion
Of their cutlass
Capable of spitting
Pellets
 Of course
Unless
The law is not kept
And the notes are
Not
Surrendered in
Arrested protest
The real complainants
Hide
Smug behind the book
Counted among us
The source of dissent
The informed citizens
Seeking redress.
