footprints in the earth.....

Nativity morning

Ears are satellites
Itching to listen
We waited
on nativity morning
Anxious for news
Communication, felicitation
Good tidings in a basket
SOMEONE SAID SOMEONE DIED
A guard standing
Two teenagers stolen from
The crib
We amazed like donkeys
Stared
Needing clarification
THEY SAID IT WAS A ROBBERY
Of memory
Two thousand years
Weeping Bethlehem
Herods dilemma
Reincarnated in bullets
SOMEONE SAID THANK GOD
SOMEONE SAID NO GOD
I needed reconciliation
I had just knelt
Before the priest
At confession
WHEN
It happened yesterday
Outside the gates of
The BANK
Joseph fled to Egypt
Baby and wife
Saddled with a dream
I stumbed into the
House
Comforted
Centuries in slumber.
