 Wave of Satisfaction
I am aging gracefully, or so I have been told;
Working my old body, keeping it fit and sound.
No longer cringing into the woodwork, I walk boldly;
Feeling confident in this world, now living large.
I feel myself reaching out for that brass ring once again;
Time and patience has paid dividends within my life.
I look out across the barren world of wants and sigh;
Washing across my soul is a wave of satisfaction.
Growing in the window for years, now the sash is open;
I can touch the world, with the bells and whistles all shiny.
The sun pulls me into a fuller life as I leave that window;
Branching out in numerous directions, I feel freedom.
Feeding on the variety of delights, yet rooted at home;
Thrilled by life, I have a new passion for my next breath.
My heart grows, yet I am still sitting on this window's perch;
Blooming within my soul is a wave of satisfaction.
