The Final Sleep
Express how can we sad goodbyes
Where friends move on breaking what ties
You to them and them to you
What now to say to help you through
I knew not him who called you friend
I pray that God will Angels send
To comfort heart that feels great pain
Today,tomorrow just not the same
Your need is great to understand
With heart broken how can this man
You called dear friend, room mate now gone
What now I write, I wish upon
You Gods peace, and him Gods speed
You who mourn, your friend indeed
Him who left without goodbye
Him Gods work, again we'll try
We all will sleep someday but when
Sometimes it seems more than often
Our heart will break when death becomes
A part of life in race not won
Do not weep my Blackfoot brother
Today he walks amongst those others
That left too soon when they too fell
Asleep finally from GOD compelled
My write won't make much sense of this
To you turmoil your heart has kissed
But be strong as you know how
If just today get through somehow
I knew not him you called room mate
I feel what now has stormed the gates
Inside of you where loss is but
A punch much felt inside of gut
Hold to what you both have shared
Today will pass and you will bare
Him once here you called your friend
You who wish today would end
Dedicated to my Poetic brother Lee, with deepest condolences.
