 Space

Once thought to be empty and void of form,
Space has now been explored and mapped.
Scientists try to know this canvas of the universe,
I simply look up in awe.
Seeing the vastness of this expanse before my eyes;
I can perceive the emptiness of space to some extent,
As the stars sparkle before my eyes on a crisp night.
But empty it is not, as it pulses with energy waves;
At least from our vantage point space is alive yet formless.
I contemplate this in awe.
There is no silence in space either, as radio wave telescopes hear constant noise,
The rhythm of the universal heart beat.
So it is neither silent nor empty;
Yet the laws of our reality are modified.
My perception sees nothing, hears nothing, but I sense something;
Without any of my five senses, an awareness of space becomes more defined.
This awareness also sees this space combined with form within me;
The vastness of the universal self.
The unexplored depths and connections of creation;
My atoms that make up my body are removed from the night sky only by time.
The present shows me the unity of all, form and the formless;
I sit and look up in awe.
God stands before me in His formlessness;
I cannot see, hear, taste, smell, or touch Him.
My thoughts cannot conceive of Him;
Yet He is there before in the formlessness of space.
Breathing life into this universe, touched and guided by His Eternal Hand.
Peace is within space, full of all that cannot be perceived;
Love engulfs my soul as I look into the starry night.
God touches my heart,
I am changed by awareness;
Outside my conceptual realm
God simply is.
I worship in awe.
