BirthdaysWe all have birthdays from year to year Some view them as old age drawing near Celebrate God's precious gift of life to you Everyone has one, but others now have two My friend, no one can enter this world twice Spiritual birth, from above, to accept Christ Trusting in Jesus alone, for your soul to save Through His sacrifice, your sins He forgave My physical birthday happened to be today Double digit number is the same both ways It only occurs once in every passing decade More than a number, His image I am made Age in the spiritual sense relates to maturity Everyone at a different stage toward eternity At spiritual birth, we begin as infants and grow Changed by the Spirit, beyond what we know If our faith is only knowledge, we fail to see Blessings along the journey for you and me There will be times of trial and tribulation But everlasting hope, joy, and anticipation Time spent on this earth is not our final home It is preparation for when we reach His throne Be certain you are headed for that glorious place Freely given to all who are saved by His grace John 3:3 (Amplified) Jesus answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God. © Carol Salter 6/5/09 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
