Rainbow Over My House
I arrived home from out of town on a hot, humid day
I got out of my truck and glanced up into the sky
I stand for a moment and enjoy a promise of God
As my eyes are greeted with a rainbow over my house
Walking into my house I begin to wonder the why
Rain has not been anywhere around in days
It was curious that on this hot, cloudless day
No answer to why there is a rainbow over my house
Maybe God simply wished to say Hello to me today
Why must there always be a reason for a gift
So I look up to heaven and say thank you
For the present of a rainbow over my house
