Subdue Desires
Some things have to be sacrificed,
If having a new life with Christ;
Give attention to Heaven,
And of things that God has given.
For Christ is seated on the right,
And is filled with goodness and might;
For guiding us along the way,
So we do not go out and stray.
Keep your mind on the higher things,
Through grace and mercy that God brings;
And not of the things on this earth,
That is filled with immoral mirth.
For life on earth will soon be done,
And we will stand before His Son;
While His glory will be seen,
Showing you the things that have been.
Then you will put to death this life,
All of the trials and the strife;
The passion and all desires,
That had lit envious fires.
Because of which the wrath of God,
On who does not honor and laud;
Whoever goes against His laws,
Having irreversible flaws.
