Citadel

There is a place, a citadel
where safe from weapons pierce
This place as far as I can tell
is guarded by the fierce

I've never ventured to it's gate
nor have I seen inside
Beyond they say the people wait
pearly doors to open wide

And some pass through without a fuss
and some are turned away
They have a check list for all of us
as some have debt to pay

Sometime I'd like to see this place
this citadel free from threat
and gaze upon the holy face
but God hasn't called me yet
