Poor Righteous Poet can not be bought
and will not be TAMED.
nor is he TRAINED
to begin speaking as soon as the drummer
begins to BANG
or whenever the conductor of the symphony
decides how the horns and strings
are going to be ARRANGED.
every recital is a solo PERFORMANCE
his voice must REPRESENT,
the psychologically incarcerated,
the weak, the poor and the INDIGENT.
his positive prose must be heard
on either side of the barbed wire FENCE
only chirping birds and winds of fate can be heard
when Poor Righteous Poet SPEAK
otherwise, the music and tempo
and overall rhythmic flow
is provided by a cardiovascular DRUMBEAT
he's cool as a midnight Autumn breeze
yet, out of his tongue and CHEEKS come HEAT
designed to DEFEAT hypocrites and snakes,
because the name of their game is trick or TREAT
when the listener hear his poetry at dawn,
by DUSK the need to live life right is a MUST
say goodbye to ill desires
such as greed, envy, hatred and LUST
sadly, Poor Righteous Poet is not BULLETPROOF
he fell victim to a shotgun slug
from the rifle of a terror driven, misguided YOUTH.
