 Julias' Poetry from the Heart

Alzheimers

The tears won't stop flowing
I don't know what to do,

You are going away forever
I'm truly going to miss you,

Those quirky little things you would do
Like folding the tissues
Two by two,

The constant late night pacing
As you couldn't fight the urge to walk,

Your slurred speech and confusion
As you searched for the words to talk,

Your imaginary friends only you could see
The way you stood for hours,

Wondering who I could be,

We learned to live with you
As we helped you with your disease,

No matter what we tried to do
We could not put you at ease,

We spent so many nights looking after you
Now you are gone I find myself,

Wondering what do I do?
