Genetic Genes! And My Daughter...

Ok, this is another poem about genetics,
Genes and all that stuff that make us up,
Well sometime's they go wrong, a lot!
And it fills up our already overflowing cup!

Sometimes, nah, I guess I can say...
My cup's always overflowing the bad,
But, it could be worse you know,
I could also live miserable and sad!

But my sadness only usually lasts 2 days,
So I guess I am lucky about that!
Cos at the end of the day, it's not ok!
To have others feeling sad and flat!

And that's not what I am about you know!
Nah, being sand and depressed isn't me!
I'd rather have a laugh instead,
Cos there's much happiness inside of me!

Ok, genes, and problems that are genetic,
Get me down at times, and just lately a lot!
Cos these bad genes of mine have passed on...
To my poor daughter, and quite a lot!

At 30 years of age, I have to say,
She's gone from happy to miserably sad,
Can't be as she was, can't pick up her baby,
Can't play with her kiddies and act daft and mad!

Cos these genes of mine have ravaged her,
Things you wouldn't believe unless you've seen,
What she's like now, to just a year ago,
It's a nightmare, but I so wish it was a dream!

Her whole body is wracked in horrendous pain,
You can barely touch her skin!
So pained is she, so sad is she...
She's in a situation she just can't win!

She can't get out of her bed herself,
She takes morphine half an hour before,
And then her hubby, who's a gem...
Helps her up and does so much more!

He's had to take over the running of the home,
And deal with their children too,
All the work that goes into their home,
Yes, there's nothing he wont do!

Because she can't do it, well, shoulden't!
But trust me, if she polishes around,
Then for at least that day and the day after,
No pain ease can she find!

Stupid isn't it, it really is stupid!
It so breaks our hearts into two,
When all we can do, is watch her worsen,
And see the hellish pain she goes through!

So when I have my moaning moments,
Oh how sickened that makes me feel!
When I see what she goes through every second,
And watches these genes ravage and steal...

...Steal away the very essence of her,
And watch her struggle every second, every day,
And all because of these genes of mine!!
What havoc do they play!!

They cause her a pain insurmountable,
And bring her body to a standstill to painful to bear,
Paralyses her all over her body at times,
And can happen from the neck down, anywhere!

So when I go off feeling lousy for a time,
All I have to do; is to think of her pain,
And pray to this Icon, Our Lord,
To give her release for a time, once again!

For it is all in the hands of God,
To give her ease, or to not...
But no matter what happens in her life,
Trust me, what a faith she has got!!

And without her faith I tell it true,
And I tell it right from my heart...
I know what she would do, oh yes,
But they are words I can't impart.

She lives for Our Lord, and her family,
And they're the only things that get her through,
So I pray all the time that she keeps that faith!
And fight on, as only she can do!

But she won't quit, I know that really,
For she would never sin against God,
And I think He made her as tough as me!
Cos He's a very clever bod!!

So for those out there who pray and believe,
Please add my daughter to your prayers,
Her name is Marie, and God knows her well,
So pray for her pain and her fears.

And Bless you for that!
