Petals In The Grass
Mourning Cloak
In the presence of such beauty
I just about mis-spoke
A purplish-brown
Is the Mourning Cloak
Drinking from a puddle
Beside a Great White Oak
A purplish-brown
Is the Mourning Cloak
I wish that I could touch it
Gently would I stroke
A purplish-brown
Is the Mourning Cloak
Wanting to get closer
But my footsteps might provoke
Rarely do I see
The gorgeous Mourning Cloak
I just about mis-spoke
A purplish-brown
Is the Mourning Cloak
Drinking from a puddle
Beside a Great White Oak
A purplish-brown
Is the Mourning Cloak
I wish that I could touch it
Gently would I stroke
A purplish-brown
Is the Mourning Cloak
Wanting to get closer
But my footsteps might provoke
Rarely do I see
The gorgeous Mourning Cloak
