MY ILLNESS
I am so sick
Shaking in the pit
Of my stomach
Worrying about
Your illness
It's called codependency
And it's
My illness
Casting my pearls
Before swine
Seeing them as fine
Hogging me down
To this fear I've lost control
Forgot my role
Too despondent to function
Have to get up the gumption
Just to get out of bed
Sunshine through dark curtains
Filtering the bright light
Of God's love for me
Love myself and see
Just what happens.
