 INDIA AT 43
Mumbai at forty-three
Not knowing what it is like for thee
It seems you've lived there all your life
Where you don't really want a wife

I find you dear, manly, and smart
Where ever I go it's in my heart
That on a magic carpet ride I'll fly
To hold you next to me and sigh

In the sapphire-blue treasures
Where I'm bowing to the pleasures
Of one stubborn delightful man
That I can barely understand

Then I hear another Indian voice
Of a newscaster about your age
And realize why you're the choice
The pen the thought the hand the page.
