All grown up too fast too soon
Daughter we love where now we loom
At crossroads mine, that will give way
To him stepfather, on her big day
Part time dad is what I am
Feeling more dead tied in with damned
Reflect I do how we've become
A soul with heart, today undone
Drama it's not for we can't stage
This hurt now birthed inside us caged
To be or not to be the question
Part of this act and her reception
She broke my heart without intention
Step father, him as was fore mentioned
Will walk her down the aisle next May
With us absent on wedding day
There is no room for mediocre
That's us once father today much broker
In heart ours was her we thought
Daughter more his because he brought
More to the table than us who failed
To give much more the past now trails
A man who tried when she did need
To give, be there, to show my seed
Seems like this is a bad dream
Awake my loss upon us schemes
The final act to cut my ties
With her now woman, with our hands tied
Hard to share what once I knew
Daughter mine once, child who grew
Too fast, too soon, leaving behind
Father whose heart today can't find
A way to give way, to him this time
