Poetic Verses
If
If this door opens with earthly delight
to enter what price be paid
If this is the answer to end this plight
what sacrifice must be made
If today I revel in earthly gain
that afford my comfort bought
Tomorrow what comes in silent pain
that makes happiness all for naught
If all this life is give and take
and all totals at the end
What sacrifice should I now make
Which evils should I rend
And if I can make it all work out
to keep happiness this life through
because, if I can, without a doubt
I want to keep happy with you
