I know you had to go.....
I stretched my arms across the bed,
I found you were not there.
I'm sorry if I hurt you so,
When it seemed I didn't care.
I remember what my mother said,
"You don't miss it til' it's gone".
The love and care you gave to me,
I built my life upon.
Though I love you more than ever,
I understand why you've gone away.
I didn't stop to think of you,
I surely hate the day.

I know you had to go.
