So you love real life heroes,
Blokes that wrestle roaring lions,
Heroes locked in prison cells
Who break their binding irons.
Athletes that climb icy mountains,
Reaching peaks oh so high,
Sailors that survive arctic storms
With torn sails, never again to fly.
We love our footy heroes,
Tough blokes that feel no pain,
We puzzle over base jumpers
Wondering if they have a brain.
Hang gliders sailing high,
Carried on cliff face breeze,
Landing on distant fields
Without scraping their knees.
We love those who serve our nation,
Standing where we would fear to go,
Wrestling with evil powers
Who relish having our blood flow.
Facing imminent danger,
They serve that we free might be,
Whether fighting bloody land battles,
Or waging war at sea.
We love those gifted actors,
Enthralled as they spin a yarn,
And those foot stomping musoes
We dance to in our barn.
And singers whose presence
Inspire with every note,
And orchestras whose music
Uplifts as we float.
There are other real life heroes,
Their names are quite unknown,
They beaver away so quietly,
Serving the homeless of their town.
Others just seem to sit silently,
While they talk to God above,
That despised grain of mustard seed
Ensures that you hear of God's love.
Our God is a real life hero,
Protecting Daniel in lion's den
Calming stormy oceans,
Making dead men walk again.
He conquered evil's power,
Bringing Satan to his knee,
That same God will protect you,
His faithfulness is beyond degree.
He soared on the morning clouds,
Rising again to his Father's side,
Watching and providing for those
He described once as His Bride.
Those saved ones of faith,
Are so precious to our Lord,
He is coming again to raise us,
You can depend on His word.
