This I Know (Second Lament)
This I Know
Second Lament
They say, “ Take your turn! Don't let life pass you by
Kinfolk, place your kite high, sun-bound, into sky.
What deserves it is worth an earnest try!”
Abandoned dreams never answered me.
I've been to mountaintops,
looked over expansive drops,
…let my soul fly away until all movement stopped
Sharp protruding, jagged edges don't frighten me anymore,
ceilings and floors never answered me.
Echoes to all of the questions I've asked ring and fade,
die out like fire and waves,
leaving me alone with quiet and scribble on a page.
These static hours of endless still won't answer me
… and this I know!
This I Know (Second Lament)
