Consuming My Awareness
Consuming My Awareness
My love is to always have paper around,
a pen for times when tension builds.
This thrill of talking to myself in vacuums
consumes my awareness.
I've gone through thousands of treated sheets of rainforest,
brown, unbound, unlined, wood pulp,
where the only sound was mine.
There,
I've found time, like a Rolex,
ticking.
There,
my past and present situations keep mixing together.
Voices in my head start to polarize my heart.
I become day and night simultaneously.
These eyes catch peril in their gaze.
Every sparrow flies away.
I know the ending before the story has been told.
My love is to always have paper around,
a pen for times when tension builds.
This thrill of talking to myself in vacuums
consumes my awareness.
