You are a wonderfully playful muse enticing
us with your words of wisdom,
teaching us the way that life should be.
But oh compare my poetic friend full of graceful folly
and wild imagination life is not a bowl of cherries
nor a wondrous ride upon a golden stream, and
is not filled with glorious skies of dazzling blue.
Rather it is a multitude of struggles and a hard climb
up the purple mountains to reach the pinnacle of success,
and the joy of fulfillment.
Life is a reality show filled with harsh surprises
foul mistakes and raw emotion.
Beauty as they say is indeed in the eye of the beholder
but as you can hopefully now see my playful little muse
life is not for the weak nor the fool hardy.
So now what do you think of all of this ugliness and strife
we all must face in our lives?
