Another Sappy Love Poem
Pounding out thoughts on my keyboard again;
Wanting to say something special, nothing mundane.
I'm overtaken by that chubby little cupid guy;
Sky rockets burst overhead like fireworks in July.
Those profound thoughts that change my life;
Are chased away by the thoughts of my wife.
Like syrup oozing down over this poetry page;
Even more of a romantic now as I begin to age.
Wisdom and profound statements are out there;
But all I can think about now is my heart's affair.
Pouring forth from my soul is mush and rainbows;
Overtaken, now from my poetry, love now grows.
I cannot help it, I reason, if my heart is smitten;
As another sappy love poem is now written.
