~*~Freedom~*~

Photobucket
~^~ Ish Covington in service of our country years ago ~^~

Freedom is a precious word...
A word painted in love.
First brushed upon a blood red Cross
Displayed by God above.

Photobucket

The Son of God laid down his life
To set the sinner free.
He set the very first example
Of how costly it would be.

Photobucket

Men and women through the years
Have sacificed to keep
This flame of freedom burning
Although the price proves steep.

Photobucket

In service to one's country
Entails much more than pride.
For once one dons a uniform
All else is laid aside.

Photobucket

Sometimes shipped to foreign soils
Where blood is spilled and spent.
Leaving loved ones so bewildered...
Wondering just why they went.

Photobucket

It's all done for independence...
All done for freedom's sake...
For God and country and family...
To protect what is at stake.

Photobucket

Freedom isn't and has never been
Upheld without a price.
Someone has to pay the cost...
Someone has to sacrifice.

Photobucket

Declaring independence,
We declared a will to fight
For our religious freedoms...
For our every human right.

Photobucket

My dear Ish was one of those
Who answered freedom's call.
On July 4th I'll honor him
And all those who gave their all.

Photobucket

As we celebrate our nation's birth,
Let us not forget to pray
To thank our God for freedom
And for this Independence Day.

  Lovingly.

than to lay down one's life for his

We miss you Papa Ish,for on the 12th of June you went on to glory
This page is just a part of your caring and giving life story
A selfless man that lend a hand as well as his heart
Forever will be in our memory and never will depart
We know you're watching over all of us that loved you so very much
Your light was bright here on earth so we know it's now even brighter
We thank-you for all your unselfish ways that made all hearts much lighter
So until we meet again just know how very much you'll be missed
And as I end this lil' poem to you it is sealed with much love and a kiss
(written by Pastor Linda Begley aka...)
Lovingly and Sadly Missed by Your Liny Girl and
Your Precious Dishy and all your family and friends
