Cherish Wisdom
Give me an ear so you will know,
On which direction should you flow;
The Law of God do not forsake,
Remember them as not to break.
Tender and beloved in the sight,
Of my mother for to do right;
My father taught me how to live,
All I do has a good motive.
But most of all to understand,
The wisdom behind each command;
And cherish as to each one reads,
Obeying with each of the creeds.
He taught me to retain by heart,
Never let the words to depart;
On advice my mother has said,
And keeping them within my head.
That is why I am telling you,
For wisdom in seeing you through;
Your lifetime so you can cherish,
Without fear that you will perish.
For wisdom is what God will give,
While you grow so you may live;
For obedience and respect,
Through experience to expect.
