Speak Godly
You know that all the ones who teach,
Will be judged more than those we reach;
More severely what we convey,
Throughout each and every day.
For all of us do make mistakes,
Sometimes causing pains and the aches;
No one is perfect when they speak,
For this body is very weak.
Bits in horses so they obey,
Whatever that you do and say;
The same for the tongue like a flame,
Shooting fire when we proclaim.
Also true about sinking ships,
During a war from some loose lips;
As the mouth says a spoken word,
By many ears will it be heard.
The tongue will set lives on fire,
Linking thought with heart's desire;
To the naïve ear would have no doubt,
Since praise and curses both come out.
Yet no one ever tames the tongue,
Merely what words that will be flung.
Only those words that come from God,
Speaking of love honor and laud.
