They all sit behind their office doors,
And give out all the rules,
Sending our lasses and lads to war…
By men who are nothing but fools!
They all take a back seat,
Dish orders out to the others,
Not caring or even thinking about…
The lasses and lads, their father's or mothers!
Mothers who cry a million tears,
Who live with pain in their heart!
Never knowing if this is the time,
That their families will be torn apart!
Fathers standing tall and proud,
Hiding the fear in their heart,
Wondering if this is the last time,
Their families would ever part!
Lasses and lads who bravely go…
Where many others have tread,
Never knowing if…
They will be the next claimed dead!
They sit behind their office door,
Thinking they are so clever,
But all the time, we know…
They live in the land of never, never!
They all live in a dream world,
Playing war games, but for real,
Seemingly they don't have hearts…
For they certainly don't seem to feel!
They don't care the reprisals,
On the lasses and lads they send out,
Will they return, will they not?
We are every one of us in doubt!
Why is there need for hate and anger?
Why is the need for war?
Why, oh why do they repeat history…?
Why, can anyone tell me what for?
No, there is no rhyme or reason,
Its foolish men who love power…
Hitting the alarm, and just like that…
Millions of lives gone within the hour!
They sit behind their office doors,
And no matter what the result will be,
They will be safe in their special shelters,
With not a care for you and me!
What about the siblings,
What about the lasses and lads,
What about the kin left behind!
What about the mother's and dads!
