 JANET'S PLANET

At Last

sunset photo: sunset f_4963fc907c02.jpg

Aunt Gret out of the blue
I wrote a poem about you
A few months ago
Little did I know

That this would be the year
You would no longer stay here
An angel visited you in the dark of night
And took you away in morning light

My sister, Grace called to say, you had gone away
Gone on her birthday
As you closed your smiling eyes
The glorious sun shining bright did rise

We none know the day or hour
Like a withered dying flower
It's not within our power
While you were here, we showered

Showered you with our love and affection
You are in reunion and connection
With all your brothers, sisters, and family
As you peacefully rest with them finally

A life quietly swiftly now past
All together at last
You being the last to go
Little did I know
