I Pulled The Rug From Under Me!I did, this day, I was so upset, That I pulled the rug from under me! The foundations of my life shook from shock! For I was blinded, and I couldn't see! Couldn't see where I was going, Didn't know what on earth I should do! But I walked away from a church that was bad, Bad for me, but maybe good for you? It's just I didn't agree with stuff, Things they believe that are wrong! So sad to say, after all my life long day- I walked away feeling weak, not strong! You see, I didn't know what to do! I had no church to where I could go! So I floundered oh, so badly, That only I could really know!! Then I went to my daughter's church, And in truth, to see that it was alright! She had started going and I was concerned! I wanted to make sure it was ‘right'! Right, as in, not a sectarian cult! For that just would not do! So along I went one Sunday to check! Well let's face it, you would too! I am fiercely protected of my kids! And I wanted to make sure she was ok, So along I went, not sure what I'd find, But what it did was, change my life that day! For as I sat, the tears started flowing, I didn't know what it was, why I cry! But it felt so right; I was so at peace, Couldn't stop the tears no matter how I'd try! And I've been going ever since, It's the best thing I've ever done! And I so love it, I really, really do! Oh yes, it eye opening and so much fun!! Church and faith isn't about boredom, More, it's about Christianity, life and ever-after, Not doom and gloom, just fact, And yes, we have fun and much laughter!! And though I knew my Bible before, Now I see it in a different light! I read and absorb and know for sure, That this is Christianity and its right! And the word Christian, begins with... ‘CHRIST'...oh, how very true! So if you believe the way you should, Then surely you are a Christian too? We don't have 2 heads, honestly! And we don't live in a weird way! We have no qualms about who and what we are, And are happy in Christ, and life this day! I wasn't born to die you know! Oh no! I was born to live forever! For Jesus said to have eternal live in Heaven, We have to believe and never stop, not ever! And I so believe, oh yes, I do! So I thought I would write this rhyme, So that my faith in Jesus, in Christianity, Is there emblazed, till the end of time!! This is the scripture that jumped out and hit me, And changed my life forever! Like I say; ‘I wasn't born to die, I was born to live!' John 3;16 For it is written; ‘For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, ‘That whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.' And this is where Nicodemus asked Jesus; ‘How can a man be born when he is old? 'Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born again?' John 3;4 Jesus answered; ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you are born again, 'You shall not see My Father in Heaven!' So you see, being born again doesn't mean going back to your mother's womb; And it doesnt mean we have lost the plot! It simply means, start over, and believe in Christ with all your heart and soul. And believe that He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins. For we are all sinners in the eyes of God. And therin you are born again. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
