Conversations with Shehe
Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 Gentle Healer
Crumbling around me
Are the relationships
Of many years
Things must die
The Manure must
Fertilize and
The ground
Must be cleared
For new life to grow
In the hearts
Of my wounded

Parents can't protect
Their children
All hearts will at some point
Be broken
And time will
Remake them
Into what no one
But the Divine
And the Wise Ones.

I can remember
When I was broken too
And I couldn't see
Any future
Where I wasn't feeling
The pain
I was currently drowning in…

But the wheel turns
And it is relentless
In it's plodding on
And on and on
Until before we know it
We are in a different time
And different place
In our lives
And it is amazing,
How we could never imagine
Being where we are today
What we imagined
Five, ten, twenty
Years ago…

Time is a soft
And gentle healer
Who is infinitely
They know
That it won't last forever
Because forever
Is the present moment
And the present moment
Is never
Not ever
The same.
