 Please Forgive Me

I said some things that I wish I could take back,
Though time passed and the words were spoken.
I sit here pondering on such matters,
For my conscious is tearing my mind… my soul… and my heart apart.
You have lost trust in me,
And I'm not sure how to gain it back.
I realize that our personalities have not yet been discovered,
Nevertheless I feel a sense of loss within you,
And a sensation of emptiness inside of me.
I have lied to you,
And the trust you had for me withered to a dust beneath my feet.
I'm not sure how to say that I'm sorry,
Though I would be willing to do anything in order to patch up my mess.
Now I lounge here wondering what's going to happen,
But I only hope… and I truly wish… that you won't go away,
And leave me all alone to suffer from my misery.
