Poetic-Verses

dirty habits

Called into a shop today,
“sticks “ they caught my eye;
Hard to shake this feeling,
I think I am going to die;

Only went for a pack of mints,
This craving is such a drag
I have tried so very hard,
But I am dieing for a tab..

Sitting in my car aching,
Am I in a dream?
And in the rear view mirror
I look pale and rather green……..

 Checked out the mints upon the dash,
Extra strong and sugar free…
don't know why I bought them,
I have no teeth you see;

TIC TACS Polo's, extra strong.
But sucking on the mints,
I just knew I was doing this wrong….
So I booked a place in Rodney street,
A hypnotist world renowned
I lay upon his leather couch,
And he played some trickling water sounds;

Ten minutes on his couch,
I was getting rather bored;
I told him if I stay much longer,
I would  throw myself on my sword……

“That's okay” he said.” I think that you have won,
Took my forty pounds,
And said “ your cured now my son”…….

I tripped out on to the street ,
From his welcoming rug,
Lit a tab there and then,
Thought “what a stupid mug”!

SO if you try the patches ,
The fake “ciggies” or the gum;
Please don't light up again,
It browns your fingers and thumb………
