'Venomous Words'

There are people who sit in judgment of things they don't understand,
They open their mouth to spit words of hate
Never caring about the outcome,
Or contemplating the fate.

Venomous words can harm like deadly bees can sting,
Their poison injected beneath the skin
Like roots of a tree that find their way down
Into the ground, without sound.

They criticize what they cannot accept,
So they jump to conclusions without regret,
And they continue the battle with hatred and malice
While perched inside their lofty palace.

So quick to believe what is written,
Whether it be the truth, or lies,
And the deadly shots are fired
Without the need to see the whites of their eyes.

People can be heartless with lack of inner feeling,
They never stop to realize how their words cause serious bleeding,
And the one that bleeds the most is the one that's truly innocent,
But it's lost beneath a pile of hate when all they want is vengeance.

~ Without the need to point the finger I wanted to put
my feelings into text about a recent happening. I must say how appalled
I am at reading numerous comments, and listening to the news
coverage surrounding the unfortunate passing of someone I
consider to be one of the most gifted artists of our time.
Proper coverage is important for the truth is something that has
a right to be known, but when it's accompanied by what I consider
to be nothing short of 'circus side-show', then it's gone beyond ridiculous.
His passing is most unfortunate, it is sad, and it is a tremendous loss
of a true, gentle soul.
I wish him eternal happiness, and peace, for he never found much of either
in this life. RIP, M.J.~ R.B.
