Dust and Dreams-A Journey

Winter's Song (Nature)

Winter's Song

Glancing sadly at the barren boughs,
Of brown dead trees upon my windowsill,
The sorrowed song of a jay in mourning for lost Spring,
Permeates the stillness of winter's wind.
His jailer be merely the snow, pure white,
Frozen upon the limbs of his summer home.
Yet he appears undaunted, singing merrily,
Listening fruitlessly for his fellow fugitives.
